Bike Ride: Meet at the 1 Depot Rd. parking Lot at 11am (or start from one of the other two lots on your own)

You can also just meet at the park for the picnic if you are not biking

The Shining Sea Bikeway follows the route of a former railroad line run by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company. It’s no wonder that the bikeway was named after the lyrics to “America the Beautiful,” written by Falmouth native Katharine Lee Bates. The 10.7‐mile Shining Sea Bikeway—the only bikeway on Cape Cod to feature a seaside section—boasts beautiful vistas of marshes, rivers, and the sea.

There are three places to park along the trail with the trip ranging from 8 miles to 21.4 miles roundtrip. See below for parking addresses. There is a Bike Zone shop that offers rentals at the 1 Depot Rd. location.

21.4‐mile roundtrip 1 Depot Rd, North Falmouth, MA 02556 (just past the intersection of Rt 151 and 28A)

15‐mile roundtrip 23 Old Dock Rd, Falmouth, MA 02540

8‐mile roundtrip 81 Depot Ave, Falmouth, MA 02540

Park your bike at the Woods Hole terminal bike racks and walk to the Woods Hole Waterfront Park at 112‐138 Water St, Woods Hole, MA for a picnic. Bring your own food or get food at the Woods Hole Market and Provisions at 87 Water St, Woods Hole, MA (this market does get crowded). Feel free to wander around Woods Hole or bike back to your starting point whenever you wish.
