As we continue to wrestle with our grief and our shock from the brutal murders at Tree of Life in Pittsburgh, there has been a growing response right here on Cape Cod. I have been in touch with Rabbi Lieberman of Falmouth Jewish Congregation and Rabbi Alperowitz of Chabad Jewish Center of Cape Cod.  We all stand together in this dark time.

Throughout the day yesterday, a stream of cards and flowers arrived at our synagogue, carried by concerned and shaken members of community churches. The genuine caring from our neighbors is a touching reminder of how much good there is in our world.

To grieve, to reflect, and to connect with our many friends and supporters, we are having an interfaith service, Standing in Solidarity, this Thursday, November 1, at 7:30pm at the Cape Cod Synagogue. Representatives from many traditions and organizations will be present to offer their prayers, songs, and resolve in the face of evil. I encourage you to attend. More then ever, we vote with our feet. Your presence will ensure that you receive and give strength in a time we are all in need.

In peace,

Rabbi David Freelund
