Israel at War – We Can Help

Our shock and horror at the situation in Israel has grown since yesterday as more reports of atrocities come out.  The depravity and barbarity of the attacks sickens us. Many of us continue to be in touch with family and friends in Israel, underscoring the terrible consequences of this terrorist invasion. While we are far away, we still have an important role to play.

As advocates, we cannot accept reports that draw false equivalencies or speak of these mass murders and kidnappings as anything other than terrorism.  Speak out, in person and online and don’t allow statements sympathetic to terrorism to remain unchallenged.

As supporters, we can donate funds to where they will help Israelis face and overcome the violence visited upon them.  There are two agencies that I recommend funding in Israel.  I know there are other worthy institutions, and this is by no means an exhaustive or exclusive list.

Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical services division of the International Red Cross, provides ambulances and EMTs to respond to every emergency situation.  Click here to learn more and donate.  Please note that this is the Israeli site and 100% of your donation will go to MDA.

Natalis a nonprofit organization that provides ongoing service to those traumatized by violence.  The physical wounds of war can addressed by medicine.  The ongoing psychological trauma requires long-term help.  Click here to read more and donate.

We stand in solidarity with Israel and we pray that the IDF quickly repels the invading terrorist army.  We pray for the safety of those in shelters and for the speedy return of those taken hostage.
